Grab a kalua pork grilled cheese or sausage in a cheese bun after hiking Waimea Canyon. Service here is great.
Heavily suggest the sweet and spicy sauce- not too hot, but it'll warm your bones.
Just got a quick snack, the pork pineapple sausage. Was really good, it seems like they put a tiny bit of cheese on the bun before they grill it or something because bottom was nice and crunchy.
The sausage and pork were great! Pineapple was good, though admittedly I’m not a huge fun of sweet things like pineapple with savory things like meats/cheeses. My partner is though!
That said, it was great and would definitely stop here again.
Yum, yum, yum! Definitely hit Porky’s after a long day hiking in Waimea Canyon. There are no light options on the menu and the menu is small and all PORK- so ditch your vegetarian/vegan/muslim/kosher friends before coming! 🙂
The pork grilled cheese was amazing, one of the best I've had. We also had the sausage topped with pulled pork and pineapple chunks- you will need extra napkin for this big fella.
All the flavor profiles are on the sweet side, so if you like your bbq pork with a kick, do what I do and bring your own hot sauce.
Porky’s is a must when visiting Waimea.
I have one HUGE complaint:
I will never be able to have the Pineapple Sausage sandwich with sweet & spicy sauce for the first time again.

Seriously, it's the best sandwich I've ever eaten - full stop.

Tons of parking, great local spot. They take card and have a huge dining room. We preferred to eat it outside in the court yard across the street.

Flavors that made my mouth water and left my belly full and a smile on my face. The outside of Porky's doesn't stand out, but it is also easy to find and worth the stop. We ordered #1 and #3. There are 4 options all with pulled pork, grilled onions, pineapple and sauce. We ordered the one with pork pineapple sausage-#1, and the one with grilled cheese-#3. We also had a variety of kettle chips and orange passion juice and also Pepsi. The drinks were cans. The dishes were extremely satisfying and filling. The sweetness of the sauce and the pineapple complimented the pork perfectly. I also love how they grilled the bread with a nice cheese crust on the outside.
They were also extremely friendly and welcoming.
Burnt hot dog, dry flavorless pork with no smoke or juice, stale bun, ate half and gave the rest to some chickens. Went back to find the chickens left the burnt part and crusty cheese bun. Only one guy working register and grill, and the tables were messy. The guy needed help and training. Waited 38 minutes for our order.
